The new release from Malmö underground label 〈blundar〉 comes from Jørgen Teller, a key figure in the Danish experimental music scene active since the late '70s. A lab of primitive proto-techno and dub noise experimentation built on collapse and construction, refusing to be pinned to any meaning.
Assembled from a live performance held at Malmö's Inter Arts Centre in 2022. Working three rhythm boxes, timbales and Erica Synths, Teller deliberately leaves them out of sync to conjure an unstable groove. The sharp, post-punk drumming and metallic percussive strikes are seriously cool. Amid the minimal chaos there's a primal, consciousness-rattling pulse running throughout. Also includes an electronic ghost remix by fellow acousmatic traveler Jacob Riis. Dedicated as an homage to the late poet Poul Borum, with whom Teller collaborated in the '90s. 180g colored vinyl, limited to 200 copies. Best experienced on headphones.
