The fourth installment — 4th Grade — of the quietly experimental dubwise 7-inch series "Riddim Dub School," from Prince Istari, the singular dub artist out of Hamburg, Germany, who has given us an offbeat dub album themed around Erik Satie as well as unique records full of vocoder robot-voice dub science!!
Prince Istari in the 4th Grade of the Riddim Dub School brings a one drop tune on the first side called ‚Gone Too Soon‘. Prince Istari plays here the opening acustic guitar solo. then the tunes flaps into heavy spring reverbation in a drum and bass style just to swing back into a melodic part with some uplifting melancholic mallets solo. On the flipside 'Lost You In A Club‘ a melodica solo and lover rock influenced
disco dub tune will pick you up into gentle rub-a-dub. heavy ibanez hd-1000 harmonizer dubbing on this one!
Now a fourth-year student at Riddim Dub School, Prince Istari shows off an acoustic guitar solo on Side A's "Gone Too Soon (Tuff Times Dread)" (sample 1), a strange and singular meditational leftfield dub laced with heavy spring reverb and a mallet solo. Side B's "Lost You In A Club (Found You In A Dub)" (sample 2), a lovers rock-influenced disco-styley dub tune, is nice too. DIY hand-stamped sleeve, limited to 250 copies. Number four in the series.
