Built from a palette of short samples woven together with field recordings, it showcases his craft as an instrumentalist and sound designer even more strikingly than its predecessor. Drawing inspiration from the landscape, climate and geology of his native Yorkshire, the record hovers between ambient, jazz, classical and electronic, and could serve as a gateway into a fairy-tale world. Don't miss the mysterious, bewitching melodies built on non-standard scales — alive with a natural eroticism on tracks like "Vita," "Sprite" and "Descendent" — or the trippy sensation of tiny scattering light and the twisted rhythms of insects.
