Legendary artist RICCARDO FALSINI—who not only ran 〈INTERACTIVE TEST〉 but also contributed to the development of the 1990s Italian dance scene through numerous projects such as OPEN SPACES and I BELIEVE, and whose work continues to enjoy cult popularity with reissues underway—has had his debut release under the name RICK 8 reissued. This 1991 release features numerous classics, including “Hypernotes Velocity” (sample 1), which slowly lulls you into a trance with percussion loops and synth beams, and the sci-fi house track “Betta’s Universe” (sample 2), where a seductive female voice creates a subliminal effect. The remix by TRENT, a resident at 〈COCKTAIL D'AMORE〉, is also excellent, with a powerfully reinforced bassline that makes it a perfect fit for modern dance floors. (Original Japanese text by Akie)
