Pioneering environmental music artist Takashi Kokubo captured these unique field recordings using a binaural microphone he built himself. This masterpiece of ambient soundscapes, fused with the beautiful, introspective playing of pianist Yumiko Morioka, is back in stock! Recorded at Kokubo's log-house studio in Yamanashi, it's a meditative sonic space that mirrors the delicate balance of the natural world.

A miraculous collaboration between Yumiko Morioka — who drew wide attention with the reissue of "Resonance," her first album on Sho Ito's 〈GREEN & WATER〉, Ito being a trailblazer of Japanese synthesizer music — and Takashi Kokubo, the celebrated pioneer of Japanese environmental music and new age. Their masterpiece "Gaiaphilia" has been repressed! Environmental sounds gathered with a homemade dummy-head microphone converse with gentle piano playing in a one-of-a-kind soundscape. Taking as its title "Gaiaphilia," a word expressing deep love for the Earth (Gaia), the album delicately renders nature's resilience and harmony in sound.
