It opens with "Local Sugar Diggers" (sample1), a smooth jazz-funk cut spiked with odd-meter hooks and rewind samples, and runs through pieces like "Quimera," which loops traditional Afro-funk into something bewitching — a record packed with the kind of tricks only a master editor could pull off.
