Dans Le Camion De Marguerite Duras
Aguirre - Cat No: ZORN109
- updated:2025-07-03
A record we couldn't pass up, titled after Marguerite Duras's 1977 masterpiece film "Le Camion" (The Truck). The second album on AGUIRRE from Jean-Marie Mercimek, the post-punk/chanson duo of Marion Molle and Ronan Riou, is a "road movie for the blind" that unfolds in sound. Our first AGUIRRE stock in quite a while.
Track List

Composed and recorded over six years while crisscrossing France and Belgium. An homage to Duras's experimental film "Le Camion" — in which the draft of a screenplay is narrated, split between the truck and the landscape seen through its windows, probing the relationship between image and sound — this is a road movie attempted with sound alone. An avant-pop-to-ambient, soundtrack-like spectacle rendered in MIDI compositions that seem to build images invisible on the surface. A radio play that moves as though the camera were panning. Its awkwardness is endearing and singular. It also evokes the sensation of watching a film in total darkness through sound alone, as in Kei Shichiri's work. Recommended for the pale blue drowsiness before dawn. Includes a large poster. (Original Japanese text by Adachi)
