A previously unreleased 1992 recording from Bernard Parmegiani, the solitary master who studied under Pierre Schaeffer and was a central figure at GRM, France's electronic music research institute!! An agonizingly brilliant musique concrète masterpiece built around the theme of the "snake woman." Gatefold sleeve.

This work was created as part of the multimedia piece "Lac Noir," sparked when French filmmaker/contemporary artist Emmanuel Raquin-Lorenzi encountered a vision of the "snake-woman" in 1976 at the autumn fair in Negreni, in Romania's Transylvania region, known as the setting for Dracula. Drawing on material gathered during fieldwork in the land of the snake woman between 1990 and 1992, it's a musique concrète attempt to render the image of this snake woman through sound. Mystical and sensual. A surreal, richly unfolding drama of perception painted with an astonishing mix of folklore and fantasy. Every track is superb. A must. (Original Japanese text by Adachi)
