A self-taught drummer who invented his own instruments — the "drumgita" and the "string-drum" — and experimentally explored a singular four-dimensional polyrhythmic musical world, Lori Vambe stands alongside figures like Moondog, Daphne Oram and Harry Partch: a solitary, visionary musician born in Zimbabwe and active in Brixton, UK. His hard-to-find, ultra-rare album "Drumland Dreamland," originally issued in 1982 as a tiny private pressing, now returns as a remastered official analog LP reissue on the esteemed Strut. Vinyl-only release.
