Built on a borrowed slice of Chic's "Good Times" with live playing layered in, and carried by the smooth patter of three MCs, this disco-rappin' party-rap classic originally released on Sugarhill Records in 1979 appears here in its long version on Side A, "Rapper's Delight (Long Version)" (sample1). Side B delivers "Rapper's Delight (Greg Wilson & Ché Wilson Remix)" (sample2), a beatdown disco-rappin' new remix at around 113 BPM from UK re-edit master craftsmen and legends Greg Wilson & Ché Wilson — it makes the most of the original while nodding to today's club scene, with a perfectly judged, floor-friendly groove that never overdoes it.
