Inspired by traditional music from around the world—from Colombian cumbia in South America to the Middle East and Eastern Europe—this eerie and mysterious outsider/left-field/ avant-garde electronic reggae & dub artist Elijah Minnelli—a UK maverick—has released his long-awaited new album *Clams As A Main Meal*, the follow-up to his debut *Perpetual Musket*. It’s a masterpiece of strange, dark, melancholic, left-field, folky reggae. It looks like the long-awaited reissue is finally here! It had been hard to find for a while, so I’m thrilled about this reissue. Highly recommended. I’d definitely suggest giving it a listen.

Based on “Perpetual Musket”—a 2024 FatCat Records release featuring reworkings of folk songs in collaboration with reggae vocalists—this album showcases the unique, experimental artistry of the extraordinary Elijah Minnelli, resulting in a melancholic, a strange, experimental masterpiece—a work that blends Eastern European sounds, South American cumbia, calypso, and a peculiar, folksy nostalgia—has been born. Featuring UK post-punk dub master Dennis Bovell and Welsh singer Carwyn Ellis on vocals, the album also subtly incorporates elements of slow house and screw-style slow dance music.
