Discrepant - Cat No: CREP124

Dub-drenched leftfield dance productions from Portuguese improviser and jazz saxophonist Pedro Alves Sousa. Shattered fragments of jungle and footwork, anonymous YouTube-sourced screwed material, and the lyrical, feverish mood of jazz dissolve into trancey urban sleepwalking music. A new release on Discrepant.
Track List

From the five-piece Má Estrela: a sound built around sax and electronic processing, with electronics and live drums entwining and throwing off sparks. An experiment in fluid dub space where rhythm, melody and texture are bound at the granular level, mutating through repeated continuity and rupture. Improvising poet and beat producer Elvin Brandhi, who has also released on Nyege Nyege's Hakuna Kulala sublabel, guests on one track. Six tracks in all. (Original Japanese text by Adachi)
