Trent, DeSteffan, and Regular Customer have remixed Jana Koubková’s genre-defying tracks from the late 1980s—songs brimming with originality that straddle the boundaries of world music, jazz, and avant-garde.
First up is A1 “Nijana (Trent remix)” (sample 1) by Trent, reimagined as tropical, tribal, slow-motion, cosmic alternative disco at around 99 BPM! Next up is B1 “Vanany Vanyna (Regular Customer remix)” (sample 2), a mesmerizing, trippy alternative disco remix at around 115 BPM by Regular Customer—a flagship artist of the LBD Sounds label—featuring a daydream-like psychedelic craftsmanship.
From Prague-based artist DeSteffan comes the solid post-punk, avant-jazz, and dubby remix A2 “Pipu (DeSteffan remix)” (sample 3), the reverse-spin psychedelic, trippy, and ethereal remix A3 "Horor (DeSteffan remix)", and the phantasmal polyrhythmic poetry jazz ambient groove remix B2 "Kročej (DeSteffan remix)" all bring a completely new perspective to the left field.
