A dreamlike composition that begins with a prelude based on sounds collected at train stations and unfolds by interweaving traditional music with the sounds of storms, water, and insects. Track A3 is a grand reimagining of the bluegrass classic “Foggy Mountain Breakdown,” rearranged using computer programming. Track B1 features the performance of a battered, out-of-tune autoharp—found at a shopping mall during the journey—against the backdrop of the ticking sounds from the artist’s father’s vast clock collection, creating a thunderous sound. Track B3 offers a mysterious, otherworldly rendition of “Omie Wise,” the murder ballad made famous by North Carolina’s legendary blind guitarist, Doc Watson.
