This was a short-lived project, with this album being the band’s only recording. It boldly incorporates Afro-Caribbean rhythms, funk, reggae, and contemporary Black music, reinterpreting them not as superficial styles but as structural elements themselves. A masterpiece packed with experiments in improvisation and composition that go beyond free jazz, explored from the perspective of communal music. It showcases the dynamic energy of African polyrhythms, reconstructed standard numbers, collective improvisations blending funk and reggae, solo tracks created by overdubbing a duet by herself, and a magnificent glide leading to a deeply spiritual finale.
