PASSARANI, one half of the popular disco duo "TIGER & WOODS," had an alias project he used in the early 2000s — ANALOG FINGERPRINTS — whose releases have mostly become collector's items, and now those works have been compiled! Arriving right as IDM was deepening, he absorbed early Chicago and machine funk in his own way to present a hybrid sound with the dancefloor firmly in mind.

MARCO PASSARANI, a veteran of Roman house to techno who has also appeared solo on labels like 〈RUNNING BACK〉, 〈SKAM〉 and 〈NUMBERS.〉, sees his cult-favorite alias project ANALOG FINGERPRINTS lavishly compiled by the esteemed 〈NUMBERS〉. These are works from a transitional moment — both for him personally and for the scene at large — fusing hardware like the Roland TR-909, SH-101 and Alpha Juno with early software experiments. Including tracks that rethink the connection to the dancefloor that was nearly lost amid the IDM boom, typified by "Tribute" (sample1), still hunted by collectors and trading at high prices, these are all gems that keep fragments of IDM's intricate arrangements and breakbeats while hybridizing floor-rooted sounds like Detroit techno, Chicago house and electro. Be sure to check the tracklist. (Original Japanese text by Akie)
