MALTE SCHUMANN — who under the LOOP LF alias has been a mainstay of UK bass/sound-system outlet WELL STREET, and who as CALDERA has delivered leftfield techno via NUMMER MUSIC and SPACE LAB — makes his comeback on KIMOCHI! Built from live recordings, this is experimental techno work that plays to his strengths: vivid, immersive sound imaging and knotty, intricate rhythm construction. Limited to 200 numbered copies.

CALDERA, the versatile craftsman who also works under the LOOP LF alias, returns to Chicago's ambient/sound-techno institution KIMOCHI! "RK01 (Live Mix)" (sample1) runs some nine minutes, layering multi-tiered, polyrhythmic patterns shot through with rhythmic clicks, while the equally lengthy "BT01 (Live Mix)" (sample2) unfolds with carefully restrained tempo and tone — both workflow pieces born out of live jams. Delicate rhythm-making and palpably real sound imaging. Comes in KIMOCHI's trademark hand-drawn sleeve with serial number. Limited pressing. (Original Japanese text by Akie)
