The long-awaited new release from up-and-coming South London artist Joe Milli, *Repetitions EP*—a step up from his 2025 debut—has been released via Livity Sound!! It features four tracks that sharply blend the driving force of techno with UK funk, refined into a tribal bass-tech sound.
A1 “Retreat” (sample 1), with its BPM 138, features percussion, tribal, and bass tech elements that spark up the up-tempo track; A2 “Revival” (sample 2), with its BPM 126, is a cool track where dancehall reggae and reggaeton, Latin American, and dembow beats explode with raw energy on A2 “Revival” (sample 2)—it’s also awesome. B1 “Mantra,” with a high-speed tribal 4/4 groove exceeding BPM 140, and B2 “The Less You Know” (sample 3), featuring a and B2 “The Less You Know” (sample 3), where a minimal tribal groove driven by hand drums is intricately woven with tech elements, also cuts through with a stoic, creative edge. ivity Sound is one of Bristol’s leading labels, founded in 2011 by Peverelist, and has long been at the forefront of underground electronic music, presenting raw and exploratory UK techno rooted in the traditions of UK dance music and sound system culture. Limited to 300 copies on 12-inch vinyl.
