Folk musician Jackson C. Frank has influenced countless singer-songwriters—from Nick Drake, Sandy Denny, and Bert Jansch to Elliott Smith and Iron & Wine—and his songs have been covered by many. These long-lost, previously unreleased recordings—which he secretly recorded in 1975 and were originally intended to be his second album—are being released for the first time by Superior Viaduct’s sub-label, *Antarctica Starts Here*.

Aside from the self-titled 1965 album—Simon & Garfunkel’s sole album, produced by Paul Simon, and a true masterpiece—tape recordings by Jackson C. Frank, previously unknown even to collectors, have been unearthed and will be reissued in 2026 as *1975 Mekeel Sessions*. The album features six tracks recorded in the mid-1970s at a studio in Lake Hill, New York, where Frank was living at the time. While his idyllic, warm guitar sound—characterized by strumming and fingerpicking—remains intact, his vocals, which seem to reflect a deep introspection, have gained added depth and nuance.
