Repress secured! TIMUR BASHA, who has long presided over the Kyiv underground as artistic director and resident of "Closer club," finally makes his producer debut. Built on introspective melodies and intricate rhythms, he constructs grooves that crawl across the floor, unfolding into deep minimal house with a bewitching mood. Out on 〈BASIC MOVES〉, a label that champions record play right down to its mastering philosophy.

After 15 years of behind-the-scenes production work, he finally steps into the spotlight with a solo EP! It opens with "Sluhay & Dyakuy" (sample1), where a dub-inflected bassline unfolds over crisp drums, mysterious bells drifting through as it probes a deep mood; then comes "Taxi Clearance" (sample2), whose swing-laden hat loop tickles a plump bass; and finally "Any Word Should Suit" (sample3), a high-humidity minimal cut loaded with trippy effects and vocal hooks reminiscent of early VILLALOBOS. A minimal trip that seems like it should exist but doesn't, calming you with its surreal design.
