12inch ---- JPY

Around the year 2000, as tech house was reaching its peak and the UK sound was solidifying, the producer team "COKE, STONED & BAILEYS"—who were at the forefront of the underground scene—released this masterpiece and rare gem on the 〈SURREAL〉 label. Now it’s been remastered and reissued! Rounded, hypnotic basslines and interlocking, undulating synth lines. A highly addictive, hidden gem of dub tech.

Catalog No. 7 from 〈ENDELL STREET〉, which specializes in reissuing obscure UK house tracks! This 2002 release comes from “COKE STONED & BAILEYS,” an evolution of the three-piece house trio “STRANGEWEATHER BOYS”—which was formed with members of the legendary HOUSEY DOINGZ— (one of only two surviving EPs). “Barry’s Had A Whitey” (sample 1) is a dub-tech track that maintains a low-slung groove with a hypnotic acid bassline and synth refrains, driven by a tough kick. Also included is the acid breakbeat track “What Women Want” (sample 2), featuring a cool and tricky rhythm shift—both tracks have been remastered from the original recordings! The original release remains highly sought-after and expensive, so don’t miss this opportunity. (Original Japanese text by Akie)
