This is the most academic approach in the catalog for the botanical soundscape project *MUSIC TO WATCH SEEDS GROW BY*! We conducted long-term research on *Yarrow* in collaboration with numerous ecologists. Drawing inspiration from the data and insights gained through this research, we created synthesizer music that unfolds slowly and in layers. An intriguing work that incorporates field recordings and a voice-over guide by Dr. Paul Carradonna!

Avant-Garde Electronic Music Portland-based musician and field recording artist PATRICIA WOLF—renowned for her work under the moniker 〈BALMAT〉—kicks off the event with the home-recording duo “WOO.” She then joins this bio-organic ambient project, which has garnered attention with appearances by pop art pioneer ED RUSCHA and SALAMANDA. Produced as part of an art-science exchange project held in the summer of 2024 at the Rocky Mountain Biological Laboratory in Gothic, Colorado. This academic synthesizer music was completed through close collaboration with actual biologists and PhD researchers, combining research with field recordings! It delicately expresses through electronic sounds the conditions necessary for the growth of European yarrow, the quiet workings of its roots, and how the flowers attract pollinators. The closing track, “Ecosystem Meditation,” incorporates Dr. Paul Caradonna’s plant guide into the composition, making it a unique work within this series that is most closely aligned with botany.
