Produced by Earl "Chinna" Smith, with the legendary Mutaburaka contributing to the production, he recorded a cover of “Darker Than Blue” (sample 2) in 1979 and “Move On Up” (sample 1). Born from Devon Russell’s love for Curtis Mayfield and The Impressions, and completed after many years with production assistance from Steve Barrow of Blood & Fire in 1993, this is a miraculous 7-inch release from a one-of-a-kind, gem-like cover album! !!
The album was reissued in 2022 as the first release on the 333 label but sold out immediately; now, after four years, the 7-inch single release has finally become a reality.
