A world of home-recorded outsider dub that tickles the child in all of us, featuring masterful use of vintage children’s synthesizers and retro electronic instruments. Slim Levy, a French bassist and keyboardist known for having served as the bassist on Lee “Scratch” Perry’s final tours, makes his official vinyl debut with a release from Jahtari—the major digital reggae hub led by Disrupt. A limited-edition release on bio-plastic ganja-green vinyl.

Slim Levy, who until now has mostly issued private dubplate releases, arrives with a debut album. It's a sublime piece of one-man lo-fi dub-pop psychedelia that absorbs and cross-breeds, in equal measure, the freewheeling mixing work of Lee Perry's Dub Revolution and the magical songwriting sense of the Beach Boys' classic Pet Sounds. Using toy keyboards, vintage synthesizers and a 4-track cassette recorder, the 14 tracks here are packed with simple yet endearing sonic tricks and highly addictive riddims. A triumphant DIY dub record in the lineage of Sheriff Lindo, Tapes, 7FO and Mermaid — essential listening for fans of the EM aesthetic. (Original Japanese text by Adachi)
