Following SOYUZ—the band from Belarus that has become a familiar name on the 〈MR BONGO〉 label and shares its unique take on Minas music—a new and unique project has emerged from Europe, presenting Brazilian music from a fresh perspective! The recording incorporates techniques such as analog recording—which lends a warm texture—tape, ribbon microphones, and live ensembles, resulting in a meticulously crafted soundscape that evokes a rare groove vibe, distinct from contemporary releases. Luiza Monteiro’s crisp vocals, reminiscent of Elis Regina in the ’60s, are simply wonderful. The album features 11 tracks in total, including the funky samba “Bem Querer” (sample_1)—with its street-level vibe and charming kids’ chorus—the supremely breezy “Menina Passarinho” (sample_2), a blend of soul and samba, and the cosmic Brazilian boogie “Vem pra Casa” (sample_3)—for a total of 11 tracks.
