The third release on “Parallel Line,” a sub-label of the Japanese dub label “Riddim Chango,” features producer Severin Black (aka Nape), who has relocated from London to Berlin. Rooted in sound system culture, this excellent three-track EP blends elements of steppers, digital dub, and post-punk to create a decadent atmosphere.

A fusion of Celtic melodies, feedback, and dub, as showcased on the album *Country Music*, which also featured Pavel Milyakov. This is an intriguing and deep album of contemporary dub that deepens both facets of steppers, infused with the experimental spirit of their previous release, *Lord Have Mercy / Brass VIP*. A1 “Brandy” is a fantastical, dark dub-stepper featuring an eerie, looping flute and heavy bass. A2 “Brandy” features a ritualistic atmosphere, with a gritty, heavy minimal groove that builds to a crescendo, while the B-side includes the approximately 9.5-minute live recording “Cautious (Dub),” notable for its digital rhythm and medieval-sounding synth choruses. A must-have for fans of G Version III. Artwork by Zodiak. He’s reportedly scheduled to visit Japan in late 2026—he’s definitely one to watch. (Original Japanese text by Adachi)
