NICODEMO is making a comeback to 〈ALZAYA〉, which he co-runs with VOLANTIS—the group that caused a huge stir with its “monster alternative disco” sound blended with Japanese folklore! “You Are Sleeping” (sample 1) builds a multi-layered structure with a beat that pulses lightly against a backdrop of softly modulating synth ambience, interspersed with samples that blur the boundaries between soundscape and rhythm. “Minor Haze” (sample 2) exquisitely blends the jazz essence of an electric piano with trance-like synth chains. A dubtech/left-field house masterpiece that consciously plays with spatiality and reverberation, where vocal samples function as signals that circulate like reverberations within the mix.
