A new release from the cutting-edge dance label 〈BLANK MIND〉, home to technical masters like TAMMO HESSELINK, DJ OJO, and BIG HANDS! BENABOU makes his comeback with his first production since 2018, further evolving the precision of the rhythms that lie at the core of his sound. Highlights include “Projet G” (sample 1), a rhythmic workout that makes full use of syncopation from the very start, with mysterious layers of the Korg Mono/Poly creeping in, and “Shift” (sample 3), which creates a hypnotic, sustained psychedelic groove through repeated percussion. It’s also wonderful that the production was designed with vinyl playback in mind, intentionally limiting the running time of each side to 15 minutes to preserve the warmth and fidelity of the sound.
