The essence of Americana drone music. To mark the fifth anniversary of its release, Old Saw’s 2021 debut album—featuring New England musicians led by composer, multi-instrumentalist, and engineer Henry Birdsey, who recently released his magnificent final album, *The Wringing Cloth*—is being reissued in a deluxe edition with an obi strip. Released via *Lobby Art Editions*, a label run by Sam Wenc, director of *Mississippi Records*.

Featuring a lineup that includes several types of guitars—such as pedal steel and resonator—along with fiddle, banjo, pipe organ, and bells, this 2021 release from a small village in Vermont offers timeless instrumental drones and ambient Americana. This four-track album stretches the resonance of folk music, transforming it into the realm of drone ambient. It’s slow music that evokes expansive pastoral landscapes, as if one were listening intently not to the heavens but to the earth below. Although it was announced that their fourth album, due out in 2025, would be their final release, we’ve also received the good news that they will be performing their first live shows across the northeastern United States at the end of this summer.
