Prince Riser, a reggae/dancehall producer who began his career in the sound system scene of Volgograd, Russia, presents his debut LP on *Jahtari*, an album that delves deeply into the spirit, equipment, and culture of 1980s Jamaican digital dancehall and brings it into the modern era.

Prince Riser, a Russian producer who has been active since the mid-2010s and has released riddims and dub tracks on his own labels, *Sufferers Ocean* and *Cossack Records*—and who also performs under the name Robbie Reiser—makes his LP debut on the red-hot *Jahtari* label! Drawing heavily on ’80s digital dancehall and having collected and studied vintage gear such as synths, drum machines, tape decks, and open-reel tape recorders, this rhythm craftsman has forged an authentic sound that carries on the legacy of UK digidub pioneers like Dread & Fred, Fatis Burrell’s Exterminator, and King Jammy. The vocal cuts featuring Sammy Gold, Madi Simmons, and Prince Riser himself each come with their own dub versions. Furthermore, this powerful release was finished with a sprinkle of “cosmic dust” by Jahtari’s leader, disrupt, in his home studio. The artwork was also created by Prince Riser himself.
