That memorable MC work by MIKE CLEVELAND on “LAST NIGHT A DJ SAVED MY LIFE”—a defiant collage set to echo-laden psychedelic boogie house! San Francisco-based edit master KING MOST—who has gained popularity for his daring style of pitting major samples head-on against each other—and MARC MEISTRO, a member of the world music DJ team SOL POWER, have released a split 7-inch!
Track List

〈BASTARD BOOTS〉 The third release from 〈SWEET BREEZE SOUND〉—a label founded by the Washington, D.C.-based world music DJ team "SOL POWER ALL-STARS," whose Afro-re-edits from labels like 〈G.A.M.M.〉 have also been well-received—features nostalgic tracks heavy on sampling! Featuring samples from INDEEP’s classic “Last Night a DJ Saved My Life” and a rich array of effects—including seductive echoes—this edit by KING MOST, “Money In The Bag” (sample 1), fuses ’80s electro with proto-house. The B-side features MARC MEISTRO’s “Like A Moth To A Flame” (sample 2), which samples JANET JACKSON’s “That’s The Way Love Goes” and pays homage to the synth-disco sound of electro’s heyday with floating samples!
