Local hero Hugh Burridge, who has released a string of records on his own 〈Outer Time Inner Space〉 and 〈Not Not Fun〉 among others, and left behind a captivating debut as Tunnel Dancers with Cousin, teams up with Setwun, active as a multi-instrumentalist/producer/DJ. Both artists move freely across genres〜jungle, house, dub, jazz, soul, broken beat〜and here deliver an exquisite blend of Australian urban neo-soul and hip-hop. "Yeah Definitely" grew out of a set of raw instrumentals built by Hugh B, over which Setwun layered vocals, while "Nah Maybe" matures into neon-smeared city pop atmospherics, sweet slow-jam grooves, and supple guitar phrases. Deep low end rooted in dub and sound system culture, textures filtered through post-punk and ambient, and sample-based hip-hop beats merge effortlessly with Setwun's mysterious neo-soul and modern R&B vocal smoothness.
