From 〈LOST CONTROL 2097〉, the label run by BLACK EYES — an offshoot of the long-running party "LOST CONTROL" and a name gathering followers as an NTS resident — comes a release by WALT J, the man behind the Detroit cult classic "Reborn" (1997) (he'd previously appeared as a remixer, but this is his first solo outing here)! "Resonance" (sample1) is Motor City house built in multiple layers of texture: loud open cymbals and heavy kicks, a chord refrain that pulls it all together deep and dreamy, topped with PRINCE OF HYDRO's hypnotic poetry. "Love Petals" (sample2), where crisp percussion meets dreamy keys, is a refix of a gem dug out of his private archives. (Original Japanese text by Akie)
