SWEETLIGHT, a French project active about 25 years ago when electroclash was at its peak, has also released a compilation of rare tracks! First up is their signature track, “Abusator” (sample 1)—a hypnotic electro masterpiece that unleashes an intense synth rush right from the start, gradually building layers and ramping up the tension. The following track, “Too Shy” (sample 2), also features a ferocious synth rush with a distorted edge, which builds into a melodic surge as the song progresses. Of particular note is the previously unreleased track from the same era, “Noir Comme Le Beat” (sample 3)—a grand electro journey featuring an ever-changing arpeggio bassline and chord progressions that seem to travel from Detroit to Paris.
