A no-miss four-track EP from CVBox, known as a master of the synthesizer — he released an ambient album on 〈SLEEPY CITY〉 under the BEAU alias, is currently signed to 〈UNCANNY VALLEY〉, the vinyl label that represents the city of Dresden, and was tapped for the first release on the new label launched by Leipzig underground party "LUNATIC Crew"! Leading things off is A1 "Trawler Crossing" (sample1), a distinctive techno cut you won't hear much of anywhere else: over a distant, gray backdrop, an acid bassline and dissonant symphonic layers close in partway through before the hi-hats take off. Then there's A2 "Echo Place (Canyon Version)" (sample2), a Detroit-minded piece that rises on brushed-up synths and disco toms — Balearic techno with a trancey air that truly shines on the floor! And the two cuts on the B-side are the ones we'd recommend most of all: "Leo on LFO" (sample3), with emotional breakbeats entwined around sticky acid chops, and "Remind20:3", a German chill-out track that draws you deep in with ambient shimmer and beat sense — both audible from the tracklist.
