Following strong sales of his solo title "Lucid Dreams EP" on CATCH, Leeds' BOBBY O'DONNELL unveils this sampler for his own label. First up is "Super Nugg" (sample1), a fresh beatdown cut from up-and-coming Berlin beatmaker JOSH TWEEK — whose 10-inch on Odd Socks made waves — pairing funky, distorted synth solos with spacious, dreamy development. Also highly recommended is ANAXANDER's "I Can't See You (But I Can Feel You)" (sample2), an acid-tinged dub beat track with a hip-shaking bassline and real forward drive, showing off a sound style that has taken a distinctly seasoned turn. Elsewhere, "Helix" (sample3) by DRUMMOND, the Spanish producer who also runs MORA MUSIC out of Leeds, is a subtle breakbeat-flavored dub-tech piece whose slick, cutting effects at the mid-section peak make for a wonderfully understated arc.
