This compilation features two “Living National Treasures” of Morlam: Ankanan Kunchai, who appeared in Soku-zoku’s *Bangkok Nights*, and Po Charoennoi, who starred in the film *Y/OUR MUSIC*! As veteran legends hailing from Isan in northeastern Thailand who have been active for many years, their track records naturally feature a dazzling lineup of Isan stars. However, this compilation focuses on the era when they competed solely on the strength of their music—without music videos or TV exposure—during the 70s, when Inthanon Productions was at its peak x301C;80s—when Inthanon Productions was at its peak—featuring a mix of hit songs and rare tracks from the genres of Morlam, Luk Thung, and Thai Funk. This compilation automatically serves as a textbook for understanding modern Thai pop from an Isan perspective. The landmark first release of the Morlam-style “Ram Pen”—which he created and popularized—also makes its debut here! When looking at Doi Inthanon’s work, the phrase “he stormed from Isan into the center (Bangkok)” fits perfectly. Let’s see firsthand just how much of a whirlwind this rule-breaking, devil-may-care businessman, Mr. Doi, really was! (Mr. Doi, you’re really pushing it! — by EM RECORDS)
