LP 3190 JPY

The momentous debut album on BLACK TRUFFLE from SAM DUNSCOMBE, the Australian-born, Berlin-based clarinetist, computer music and field recording artist/writer also known for collaborations with Taku Sugimoto.

Side A, "Outside Ludlow" (sample 1), is a sound work built from audio found on a 1/4-inch tape discovered tangled in a cactus while exploring California's Mojave Desert, processed and edited with added Hammond organ to unfold a vast, imaginary ambient landscape. Side B features "Desert Disco" (sample 2), an electro-acoustic piece completed by applying a tape-music approach to arid source material drawn from field recordings made on the outskirts of Ludlow, the ghost town where the tape was found \u2014 in a silence unique to a ghost town, freight trains and the distant blasts from gold mines and the local Marine Corps base can be heard. Mastered by Joe Talia. (Original Japanese text by COMPUMA)
