Strut has released the definitive vinyl reissue of PATRICE RUSHEN’s classic 1982 album *Straight From The Heart*!! It includes a 4-page booklet featuring a recent interview with the artist about the album’s production and rare photographs by photographer Bobby Holland. It includes bonus 12-inch versions of the album’s singles, including an unreleased extended mix of “I Was Tired Of Being Alone.” This official 2LP reissue, remastered from the original tapes, features all 13 tracks. A welcome reissue!! A classic album! We’ve finally restocked it after a long time!

After making his prodigious debut on the prestigious Prestige label, performing at the Montreux Jazz Festival at the age of 18, and contributing as a pianist to numerous masterpieces, he made the long-awaited move to Electro in 1978. From then on, he also blossomed as a vocalist, and PATRICE RUSHEN—who produced numerous masterpieces of soul jazz, Brazilian disco, and fusion, disco, and boogie—Patrice Rushen, who went on to produce numerous masterpieces in these genres, collaborated with a group of master musicians to create this elegant, sophisticated, and soulful crossover masterpiece, released in 1982.
