Chrome Canyon is the alias of NY's Morgan Z, who also works as keyboardist for Apes & Androids. This is a concept album conceived as the soundtrack/OST to an imaginary film. Not long after relocating from NY to LA with his synthesizer collection, he was invited to compose and perform a live soundtrack to the silent film classic "Metropolis" at a festival, and the acclaim that followed led to him scoring the Cartoon Network animated series "Infinity Train" — experiences that seem to have been distilled straight into the retro-future, sci-fi, fantasy world of this record. His previous album already felt like a film OST, but who knew his love for movie music ran this deep? For the record, the scores he cites as influences include "Suspiria," "A Clockwork Orange," "Blade Runner," and "Midnight Express." Fantastic.
