This record was produced as the product of a project in which economics students at Highgate Wood School in North London (the equivalent of juniors and seniors in high school in Japan) set up and ran a mini-enterprise with sponsorship from an insurance brokerage. They placed an ad soliciting music in the UK weekly music magazine Melody Maker, and five unknown local artists were selected. The lineup features high-quality material reflecting the trends of the day: Cybotron-style electro with snapping, simple 808 beats on Pip Archer's "Time To Boogie" (sample_2), the wistful and sweet street soul of Andrea Lyn's "Hold On To Your Heart" (sample_1), and the refreshing, laid-back mood and charmingly cute vocals of Jennifer Viban's "Miracles" (sample_3).
