A one-time-only improvisational collaboration featuring Kafka Snore—comprising Eiko Ishibashi, Jim O’Rourke, and Tatsuhisa Yamamoto, a trio that has been garnering attention from hardcore music fans around the world—along with Kei Matsumaru and Giovanni Di Domenico! The live album *SAKURAZA*, recorded at the “Sakuraza” live house in Kofu, Yamanashi Prefecture, is a magnificent auditory experience. It captures a 40-minute improvisational session unfolding within a psychedelic space, where the musicians repeatedly experiment with and refine their ideas amidst a grandiose soundscape. This is some of Japan’s finest music. Released by the Spanish label *MODERN OBSCURE MUSIC*, known for its numerous releases of obscure experimental music. Be sure to check it out.

Though the number of live performances can still be counted on one hand, these improvisation sessions are attracting attention on a global scale. A modern flute resonates amid a tension-filled silence. The allure of the space between notes. It’s infused with a wealth of advanced skills—jazz, electronic drones, sophisticated harmonies, and real-time equalization during performance. It’s precisely because there are no long, grand developments that you can truly feel it. An auditory experience in a different dimension. A total of 40 minutes of imaginative avant-garde sound across PART 1 and PART 2. Since samples alone don’t do it justice, we encourage you to listen to it in person at a store. The mastering by Giovanni Di Domenico is a truly exquisite finish. (Original Japanese text by hamon)
