Included here are "Black Eye (Main Theme)," a dramatic slice of jazz-funk written for the 1974 blaxploitation film Black Eye, along with unreleased tracks and newly unearthed advertising music. "Zoos of the World" (sample_1), from the 1970 National Geographic special of the same name, sets dozing wild animals spreading their wings to music, while "Moon Journey" (sample_2), the soundtrack to the 1969 live broadcast of the Apollo 11 moon landing, was lost for decades until audio archivist Andy Zax dug up the tapes. Roughly six minutes of dizzying, fantastical development, this track is rated by many fans as the finest thing Mort Garson ever did. Close your eyes and savor it. Also recommended is "Captain DJ Disco UFO" (sample_3), a cosmic, cute synth-disco cut that works on the floor and has a killer title to boot. Highly recommended. (Original Japanese text by AYAM)
