Set on Texada Island, a remote island in Canada, the documentary Texada portrays the tension between permanence and impermanence, as industrial sites once at the center of destruction are reclaimed by nature and greenery sprouts from the ruins. Five tracks in all, with wonderful expression hovering between the organic and the synthetic: the haunting flood of ethereal, psychedelic sax and electronics on "How Big is Time" and "It Happened Once," and the dreamlike field recordings of water and rock paired with synthesizer on "The Quarry" (sample_1).
