Track List

BPM111 — above all, B2 "Forest Nativity (Red Axes Edit)" (sample1), Red Axes' edit/remix, is superb, making the most of the original's charm while shaping it into a psychedelic, alternative, leftfield, avant-garde Afro-cosmic disco dub space that keeps the floor swaying and moving.
BPM87 — A1 "Le Grand Soleil De Dieu (Psychemagik Remix)" (sample2) is another gem: a slow-mo psychedelic dub downtempo chill-out remix by UK-based duo Psychemagik, known for their eclectic blend of electronic music, psychedelic rock and mystical global sounds, drawing you in with kalimba and rhythm machine.
BPM106 — A2 "Guinée (Turbotito Edit)", a smooth, groovy and mellow Afro-cosmic disco remix by Berlin-based DJ/producer talent Turbotito, feels great too.
BPM125 — B1 "Agatha (Voilaaa Remix)", a French touch, soulful and funky, gorgeous highlife Afro-disco remix by Voilaaa, the project of Lyon's Bruno "Patchworks" Hovart. Four distinctive, captivating remixes, each one built to move the floor.
From the 1970s into the '80s, Francis Bebey crafted innovative, uniquely ahead-of-its-time Afro-pop for a new era, built on the hypnotic, clattering grooves of cheap drum machines, the psychedelic ring of thumb piano (sanza), the lustrous and delightfully odd melodies of cheap synthesizers, and alternative sci-fi spatial sonics — and here his music is reborn on the dancefloor with fresh breath.
