Recorded over a brief two-week stretch during lockdown, while the two were living together and sharing a studio in East London. Despite limited gear — an out-of-tune piano, cheap mics, a smartphone, and Ableton — '053' bursts with movement and raw immediacy, as if reclaiming the spontaneity and energy that lockdown had taken away.
