Their debut album, recently released on BORDER COMMUNITY, was superb — electronic psychedelic meditational raga, a magnificent world of timeless sound. Carving out the future. "Long Weekend EP," the acclaimed 2020 EP from the duo of British synthesizer wizard James Holden and Poland's foremost clarinet virtuoso Waclaw Zimpel, is now in stock!!!
Track List

20th-century contemporary minimalism, traditional folk music from around the world, raga, free jazz, ambient, '70s krautrock, avant-garde experimentation, electronic dance music, techno, experimental, improvised jazz, freak-outs — here are the latest fruits of James Holden's explorations in recent years!!!
James Holden plays custom-built computer and modular synth systems, alongside the violin from his childhood that he'd long left untouched and hand percussion he built himself, while Waclaw Zimpel deploys alto clarinet, electric piano, organ, lap steel guitar, airless harmonium, and the Indian twin-pipe algoza flute, with guitar from Jakub Ziolek woven in as well. Out of their hypnotic, trancey, lyrical dialogue emerges a Terry Riley-esque mandala of psychedelia that seems to open the doors of perception, exploring the space between floor-ready sounds and listening sounds across four tracks: BPM102, BPM107, BPM132, and BPM148.
