Indonesia's Lamunai Records presents a much-buzzed-about remix 12-inch that dismantles and rebuilds material by Indonesian rock legend Harry Roesli — known for the astonishing 1976 psychedelic rock masterpiece "Titik Api" — pushing it into new cosmic, modern dancefloor territory. Featuring Komodo and Midnight Runners from Indonesia alongside DJ CHIDA and Kaoru Inoue from Japan, the record collects four tracks, each artist reconstructing the source material for the dancefloor in their own way. Limited edition 12-inch vinyl. A Newtone Records recommended release.
Track List

The 1976 masterpiece "Titik Api" (Flash Point) was a big seller at our shop when it was reissued on CD, and here the music of that astonishing Indonesian '70s psychedelic rock legend Harry Roesli gets reworked by Komodo and Midnight Runners from Indonesia plus DJ CHIDA and Kaoru Inoue from Japan — four tracks, each artist rebuilding the material for the dancefloor in their own interpretation. Limited edition 12-inch vinyl.
This is no ordinary remix/re-edit EP: built on the deepest respect for Harry Roesli's wild, psychedelic, wide-ranging sound, it takes his work apart and reassembles it for today's global dancefloors — four remixes that breathe new life into a cross-cultural, time-spanning Indonesian cosmic alternative disco.
A1 is a melancholic deep house gamelan synthesized disco remix by Indonesia's MIDNIGHT RUNNERS at 122 BPM (sample 1); A2 is DJ CHIDA's remix at 124 BPM, a dizzying deep-house-styled long story clocking in over 11 minutes, with a folky turn in the final stretch that's utterly captivating (sample 2); B1 is a slow-mo, sticky cosmic funk disco remix by Indonesia's KOMODO at 111 BPM; and closing things out, Kaoru Inoue (aka Chari Chari) delivers a superb 100 BPM slow-motion cosmic Indonesian psychedelic epic running over 10 minutes on B2 (sample 3).
Every remix here is dancefloor-ready and bursting with its own unique character — a wonderful remix collection. Be sure to check the tracklist. (Original Japanese text by COMPUMA)
