The long-awaited debut album from Opsin — a project by two longtime friends from South London, the gifted Kincaid, known for his fine modern techno/bass music releases on Banoffee Pies, Control Freak and Well Street, and Keydell, a master of modular synths — arrives on HYPNIC JERKS, the promising up-and-coming London underground label whose first release, the debut from maverick producer Toumba, was also superb!
Track List

Built up delicately and meticulously over four years of trading sound sketches and fragments between the two, the album unfolds across ten tracks of poetic, introspective, deep electronic soundscapes that dig into the space between ambient, techno, experimental, bass music, drum & bass, chill-out, downtempo, electronica and industrial. The sheer intensity of the persuasive electronic sounds, the dubwise, effect-laden mix that seems almost alive, and the beautiful three-dimensional sound design and acoustic space are all outstanding.
Mastered by Rashad Becker, and released as a 180g heavyweight 45rpm double 12-inch! What's more, the gatefold sleeve featuring gorgeous artwork by their longtime friend Jacob Wise makes this a truly exquisite piece of vinyl art. Recommended — a highly recommended release.
