A new album from “Turn On The Sunlight,” a long-running project led by musician and producer Jesse Peterson—beloved in the LA scene and now based in Maui—and Carlos Niño, released via Japan’s *disques corde*. A world of light—organic New Age ambient jazz that carefully crafts the essence of Hawaii’s nature and everyday life into sound through meticulous craftsmanship. This is another superb release from *Music From Memory*, following *Fabiano*.

The latest release from Turn On The Sunlight, a fluid collective led by Jesse Peterson, has arrived. The album was recorded in multiple locations, including Los Angeles, Tokyo, London, San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, and Haiku, Hawaii. Featuring Carlos Niño alongside his partner Mia Doi Todd, Laraaji, shō player Takashi Ishikawa, Luis Pérez Ixoneztli, and Miles Spilsbury, this is an organic, lovingly crafted ensemble where the musicians naturally resonate with one another through a process of mutual listening. Blending acoustic performances and natural ambient sounds with subtle electronics, this album is a warm, organic ambient jazz utopia that shines vividly through its tactile, delicate details. The album begins with the title track—a lullaby (sung by Mexican musician Luis Pérez Ixoneztli) whose melody was woven from the syllables of Peterson’s son’s name—followed by the 15-minute epic “Medianoche En La Calle Aurora,” and then on to Ryujin Onsen—.
